ATHENS — In what is already being hailed as one of the most explosive musical pairings of the year, world-renowned Greek-Australian guitar virtuoso Orianthi has officially confirmed she will join Greek pop icon Anna Vissi as a special guest performer. The historic collaboration will take place during Vissi’s highly anticipated solo concert at the Athens Olympic Stadium (OAKA) on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The news has sent shockwaves through the global Greek diaspora, as two powerhouse musicians of Greek heritage prepare to share the stage. The massive stadium event has officially sold out, with tens of thousands of fans securing their places for a historic night of music.
A Historic Return to the Olympic Stage
For Anna Vissi, often revered by fans as the “ultimate Greek star”, the upcoming performance marks a deeply monumental return to the stadium. It has been 22 years since she last graced the OAKA stage during the historic closing ceremony of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Following her record-breaking, sold-out performances at the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro), Vissi’s jump to the Olympic Stadium is designed to push the boundaries of live entertainment in Greece, featuring a massive, state-of-the-art audiovisual production.
Global Rock Powerhouse Embraces Her Roots
Adding major international star power to the evening is Adelaide-born Orianthi Panagaris. Universally recognised as one of the world’s finest guitarists, Orianthi first skyrocketed to global fame when Michael Jackson handpicked her as his lead guitarist for the ill-fated This Is It concert series. She has since built an illustrious solo career and collaborated with rock legends including Alice Cooper, Carlos Santana, and Steve Vai.
Orianthi took to social media to share her immense pride and excitement about the announcement, stating: “Omg yay !!!! This will be EPIC !!! Joining the incredible Anna Vissi at the Olympic stadium in GREECE !! Sold out !! Can’t wait !!!”
The dynamic duo promises to deliver an unforgettable fusion of rock and Greek pop rhythms. Fans attending the mega-show can expect a setlist packed with Vissi’s timeless hits, elevated by Orianthi’s trademark electric guitar solos.
